Multi Cervical Unit

Since concussion occurs as a result of a trauma to the head, it is very common that it is associated with a trauma to the neck. This can result in weakness in the neck muscles which in turn can cause pain and other symptoms.

The Multi-Cervical Unit is the most effective and complete system for the assessment and rehabilitation of patients suffering from neck weakness.  The MCU is an unmatched, research-backed tool that empowers us here at the Concussion Centre to objectively evaluate, strengthen, and restore the ailing neck. It measures neck strength in the functional upright position and in multiple directions.

The  only place you will find this unique technology in NSW is right here at the Concussion Centre. It can also be extremely effective in the treatment of whiplash.

Biodex Balance System SD

Balance perception and control is one of the more common systems that is impaired following a concussion event. There are many components to balance and not all of them can be retrained simply by practicing standing on one leg!

The Biodex Balance SD computerised system features step-by-step thorough testing protocols and training modes in both static and dynamic formats. We can utilise it for baseline testing (i.e pre-testing in impact sports) as well as an assessment and training platform.

It enables closed-chain, weight-bearing assessment and training for lower extremity patients, and adds the objective balance assessment component to our concussion management programme.

The Biodex Balance System SD has also been designed to improve balance, increase agility and develop muscle tone in the post-concussion rehabilitation phase. It is extremely versatile and is the only system that provides a fast, accurate Fall Risk Screening and Conditioning Program for older adults.

SenMoCOR LED/laser

Concussion can cause a disruption of the system that tells the brain where the head and neck are positioned. The  SenMoCOR provides both the therapist and patient with immediate visual feedback regarding sensory motor control. Using the comfortable, durable, and easy-to-wear LED/laser, SenMoCOR allows users to internalize joint position errors and acts as both an assessment and biofeedback training tool.
